Easter Bunny Creative Literacy Lesson Idea

We had a bit of fun this week as it was the last session before the Easter break. We look at how there are lots of stories about how the Easter bunny came about.

Literacy Lesson Idea

Once we had made a bunny I asked them to come up with with a story about how the bunny they had made came to be the Easter bunny. They could make up their own or use bits from some of the stories they had heard.

The stories we look at were:

Why the Easter Bunny Brings Eggs  – A European folktale adapted by Jean Warren.

Eostre and the Easter Bunny by Sonia Jensen

The Story of the Easter Bunny by Katherine Tegen. I had to download an ebook of this story as it is currently out of print.

Making an Easter Bunny

Easter Bunny Template

Cut out the bunny pieces.

Stick the smaller of the two large circles on to the largest one.

Stick on the two ears and the two feet.

Turn over and decorate.

The children loved creating their own Easter Bunny and adding their own magic.

We also decorate some magic egg shapes for the bunny to deliver.
